Rio Secco Golf Club was designed and built in 1997 by golf course architect Rees Jones. When Rio Secco opened in 1997 Golf Digest and Golf Magazine voted it among the top ten new courses. In 2007 Golfweek America named Rio Secco in the "100 Greatest Resort Golf Courses." Voted the # 1 public access course in Nevada by the Las Vegas PGA membership poll along with many other awards.
Rio Secco lays at the foothills of the Black Mountain Range 13.5 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip. The course, which is carved into the natural desert terrain, plays fast and firm as this par-72, 7,332-yard course requires using every Club in your bag. The greens are quick and undulating - meaning to stay below the hole. Rio Secco can be very difficult, but also offers four teeing grounds to allow golfers of any skill level a memorable golf experience. Rio Secco features 6 holes through steep canyons, 6 holes on a plateau overlooking the city and 6 holes in a broad desert wash.
Rio Secco is legendary among local residents and avid golfers alike for the tremendously challenging, fair, and demanding course layout. The novice golfer will appreciate the natural setting, bountiful desert wildlife, and some of the most extravagant real estate properties that line the. Tiger Woods currently holds the course record of 64.
